Ordnance Survey 3rd Edition Large Sheet Series 130

Oakhampton

Please check if this appears on your own copies of sheet Large Sheet 130.

On the full sheet map there is a faint band that extends from Arms Tor in square 7H parallel to the bottom of the map to past Moretonhampstead at the edge of the map in square 14H. It looks to me that the Hachures are missprinted lighter and seems to be only the hachure plate that is affected - both contours and rivers are printed ok. There is no mention of this in Guy Messengers Book on the 3rd Edition LSS. The only clue I can see is that it appears to be on the junction between sheets 324 and 338 of the 3rd Edition Small sheet series that was used to create the Large Sheet series. Was there a problem in creating the plate for the LSS sheet?

Below is a small extract . Notice the faint band across the extract above Tumulus and Hangingstone. Any ideas please let me know.
