Lickey Hills and Environs
Lickey
Hills is an area to the South West of Birmingham. Here are some
details of the history of the area and of the Two Villages Lickey
and Barnt Green which are to the south of the Lickeys. Barnt Green
is an unusual Village for England in that it didn't grow in the
usual way around a group of farms at a central location. Instead
it grew around a Station. This development can be seen in the
names of the roads. There are no Streets and in particular no
High Street.
